Willard Rhoades age 89 of Broken Bow, NE passed away October 29, 2021, at his home in Broken Bow.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday November 3, 2021, at 2 p.m. at the Events Center in Taylor, Nebraska with pastor Doug Saner officiating..  Burial will follow in the Moulton Cemetery with Military Rites in Taylor, NE.

Memorials are suggested to the VA of Family. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 2, 2021, from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm with family greeting 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow. Govier Brothers Mortuary are in charge of arrangements. An online guest book may be signed at www.govierbrothers.com.

Willard “Bill” Wesley Rhoades, 89, Born June 22, 1932, to Clemmie and Evadna “Duryea” Rhoades, in Arnold, Nebraska. Passed away October 29, 2021 in his home. 

 Bill grew up with his dad, who worked on the railroad, attending multiple schools in Nebraska, Idaho, Oregon, and California. He entered the Army in 1953 and was honorably discharged two years later as a Corporal. He loved to work, everything from a mechanic, tow truck driver, rancher, and the last was a heavy equipment operator. As much as he loved to work, he loved to play. Stock car driver, coyote hunter, and dog lover.

 Leaving a wife, Joan Rhoades of Broken Bow, Children Jeanne (Curtis) Dunbar of Milburn, Ne, Leonard (Carla) Rhoades of Sioux Falls, S.D., Juilia Mellman of Taylor, Ne., Janice (Stan) Moreno of Grand Island, Ne., Pamela (Ron) Spencer of Broken Bow, Ne., Cherilyn (Craig) Leth of Merna, Ne.  Sister Hilda Inness, Bob (Diane) Rhoades, and best friend and army comrade Richard Uden. 13 Grandchildren and 23 Great-grandchildren. All who loved him dearly.

 Preceded in death by the mothers of his children Alice Rhoades and Francis Rhoades.  Brothers Clayton Rhoades and Leonard Lemoine Rhoades.
