Tyler Joseph Yarrington, age 29, was born on June 7, 1996, in Lincoln, Nebraska, to Shon and Tara (Higginbotham) Yarrington. He passed away peacefully at his home in Broken Bow, Nebraska, on June 27, 2025.
Tyler moved to Broken Bow at just two weeks old and spent his entire childhood there, graduating from Broken Bow High School in 2015. He was active in sports throughout his high school years, including basketball and track, but his greatest love was football. His passion for the sport began in junior high as the team’s waterboy and continued through his senior year, where he proudly played as both an offensive and defensive lineman.
When he wasn’t on the field, Tyler could often be found working construction jobs or lifeguarding at the Broken Bow Pool. After high school, he attended Southeast Community College in Lincoln and later graduated from SCC in Milford with an Associate’s Degree in Building Construction in 2018. His love for construction was cultivated at a young age as he spent countless hours learning from and working alongside his Grandpa Dennis.
Tyler worked in construction and lived in Lincoln until 2022, when he returned to Broken Bow to work with family. He was most recently employed as a molding technician at BD, a job he enjoyed.
Known for his bright smile and quick wit, Tyler had an incredible ability to connect with people. He never met a stranger and made friends wherever he went. His sense of humor left everyone in stitches and his love for life was truly infectious. Tyler loved the outdoors. Whether it was fishing at Calamus Reservoir, hunting with his grandpa, brother, cousin, and friends, or golfing with his brother and sister and friends, he was happiest outside surrounded by those he loved.
Tyler is survived by his mother, Tara Glendy, and his father, David Glendy; his sister, Jessie Yarrington; his brother, Clayton (Brathe) Glendy; and his beloved niece and nephews, Beau, Ryett, and Wren Glendy. He is also survived by his grandparents, Dennis and Tish Higginbotham, Pat Yarrington, and Patty and Wade Preston; great-grandmothers, Gertrude Mogensen and Joan Glendy; aunts and uncles, including Amy and John Evans, Misty and Jeff King, Shad and Marie Yarrington, Adam and Wendi Glendy, and Leah and Jeremy Jech; along with many cousins and countless friends who were like family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Shon Yarrington; his grandfathers, Loyd Yarrington and Paul Glendy; his great-aunt, Jacque Mogensen; and his infant cousin, Braxton Ulrich.
To his family and friends, Tyler was a source of joy, strength, and unwavering support. He loved deeply and wholeheartedly, and his presence was a true gift. Though he is gone, Tyler’s memory will forever inspire love, laughter, and kindness in the hearts of all who knew him.
A Celebration of Tyler’s Life will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the Broken Bow Municipal Auditorium in Broken Bow. Memorials are suggested to the Family for future designation.
