Raymond D. Driscoll

November 25, 1955 — July 13, 2026

Raymond D. Driscoll, 70, of Broken Bow, Nebraska, passed away July 13th after a brief illness. He was born November 25, 1955, in Waltham, Massachusetts to Raymond and Lois (Stackpole) Driscoll.

Ray adored his four grandchildren and was deeply proud of his four sons. He was deeply loved, cherished by his friends, and will be missed beyond words by the family who loved him most.

Ray's family moved multiple times during his early years, eventually settling in Buffalo, NY, where he became a lifelong fan of the Buffalo Bills. He graduated from Hamburg High School, Hamburg NY, in 1974 and went on to enlist in the United States Navy in 1975, serving until 1977, followed by six years of service in the Naval Reserves. While in the Navy, Ray was on the USS Ranger CVA-61, a supercarrier built in the 1950s. Ray’s primary job in the Navy was deciphering codes, which required a high-level security clearance.

In the late 1970s Ray moved to Colorado where he began his career at Pepsi before moving into the technology field. He went on to spend 20 years working for Jefferson County Government in Golden, Colorado. It was in Colorado that he met Marilyn Weinberger on January 3, 1981. The two were married on April 3, 1982, and together raised four sons: Dennis, David, Stephen, and Ian.

In the summer of 2002, Ray moved his family to Broken Bow, Nebraska. There he ran an online automotive website business and held various jobs throughout Custer County. His final job was at Jennie M. Melham Memorial Medical Center in the maintenance department; a position he often said was the favorite of his career.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn of 44 years; his sons, Dennis (fiancée Brandi) Driscoll of Tallahassee, FL, David (Jillian) Driscoll of Troy, NY, Stephen (Danielle) Driscoll of Gering, NE, and Ian Driscoll of Broken Bow, NE; Grandchildren Kenna, Kai, Penelope, and Molly. Sisters, Mary Lee and Regina Fischer; and brother, David Valyo.

He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Lois Driscoll and a brother Michael Driscoll.
