Marlene J. Wiese age 88 of Kearney, formerly of Ansley, NE passed away on February 13, 2026, at the Mt. Carmel Care Home in Kearney, NE.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026, at 10:30 AM at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow. A visitation will be held on Friday morning at 9:30 AM prior to the services. Memorials are suggested to the family. Burial will follow at the Litchfield Cemetery at Litchfield, NE.

Marlene Janet (McMahan) Wiese was born on June 7, 1937, in Litchfield, NE to Otis and Dorthy Ester McMahan. She grew up in Litchfield. Marlene attended and graduated from Litchfield High School.

Marlene was united in marriage to H. Duane Wiese on August 24, 1958, in Litchfield, NE. To this union five children were born Susan E Wiese, John H. (JoEllen) Wiese, Jane (Kerwin) Bramer, Julie Carlson, and Janelle (James) Taylor.

Marlene enjoyed her kids, grandkids, crocheting, dolls, and cooking. She worked at Sandhills Manor, milked cows, and was the Janitor at the Ansley Public Schools for many years, then she went back to Broken Bow where she worked at Golden Living Center until she retired.

Duane passed away on November 10, 2018, after Duane’s death, Marlene moved to Amherst with Jane and Kerwin until COVID of 2020, where then she moved to Julies until May of 2024, where she moved into Mount Carmel Care Home.

Marlene is survived by her children John, Jane, Julie, and Janelle, a sister Patty Bennett, brother-in-law Dean Wiese, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.

Marlene is preceded in death by her husband, parents, daughter Susan, son-in-law Bob, sister Bonnie Bennett, two brothers-in-law, and a sister-in-law.
