Margaret Ann Divine passed away peacefully at her home in Sargent, Nebraska on Monday January 26, 2026, after a yearlong battle with cancer. Mrs. Divine was born on July 6th, 1965, in Denver, Colorado to Victor “Vic” and Margaret “Joan” (Emerson) Lenstrom.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents Victor and Joan Lenstrom and one baby sister Vicky.

Margaret is survived by her loving husband Bill Divine of Sargent, NE, sons Dakota (Jessica) Divine of Atkinson, Raymond Divine (friend Pheobe Fessler) of Comstock, daughter Starla (fiancé Shawn Rosenberg) of North Platte, brothers Norman (Gayle) Lenstrom of Greeley, CO, Lloyd Lenstrom (Deb Prucha) of Burwell, Mark Lenstrom of Fullerton, four grandchildren, which were the love of her life.

In the fall of 1969, her family moved from Denver to Her father Vic’s childhood home of Comstock, NE. There she attended elementary school and graduated from Ord Jr/Sr High School in 1983, During her childhood in Comstock she befriended a neighbor lady Marie Anderson who taught her the craft of tatting and crocheting. She became very proficient in those arts and loved to create many items including her well-known scrubbers. In the summer of 1976, Margaret was severely burned in an accident at her home and spent the summer in the Burn Unit at Saint Elizabeth Hospital in Lincoln, NE. It was here where she became acquainted with care giving and after recovering worked at the Sargent Nursing Home and was an EMT for the Comstock and Sargent Volunteer Fire Departments. She also provided care for her husband Bill during a recent accident working for NDOT.

She met and later married Bill Divine in August of 1994, in Sargent, NE where they made their home. She was also an excellent cook, a skill she learned from her mom and worked as a cook in Sargent. Her last job was a jailer for the Custer County Sheriff Department in Broken Bow; a job she described as her “dream job” and was very fond of her co-workers and boss Sheriff Daniel Osmond.

Margaret enjoyed her rural lifestyle, raising her children, fishing, swimming, canning, gardening, making Runza’s, and supporting sporting events, with her mom they were supporters of her dad and brothers who raced stock cars in Sargent during the 70’s.

Margaret will be missed, but her strong faith in Jesus Christ was a testament to her positive outlook on life and she lived each day to the best of her ability.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the Sargent Church of Christ in Sargent, NE. The service will be livestreamed at www.govierbrothers.com. Burial will follow in the Douglas Grove Cemetery in Comstock, NE. Memorials are suggested to the Sargent Fire and EMT’s. A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 29th, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Sargent Church of Christ. Govier Brothers Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
