Louis Morris age 71 of Merna, NE passed away May 21, 2024, at the Arbor Care Center in Ord, NE.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2024, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM with the family greeting at that time at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow.  Memorials are suggested to Valley County Hospice. Private family services will be held at a later date. Govier Brothers Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be left at www.govierbrothers.com

Louis Lucien Morris was born on October 25, 1952, to Robert and Doriene (Conrad) Morris. Louis grew up near Mason City on a farm and graduated from Ansley High School. After high school he attended Mid-Plains Community College, graduating with a degree in Diesel Tech.

Louis returned to Broken Bow after college, he worked for John Deere, then later for the State of Nebraska Department of Roads. He retired from the State after 43 years of service.

Louis liked being outdoors and camping with his children was something he enjoyed. He would spend hours in his garage tinkering with things. He also enjoyed watching Husker Football and old western TV shows. After his retirement, Louis spent a lot of time helping his sons with various building projects and often attended his grandchildren’s various activities.

Louis is survived by daughter Tanya (Danny) Outen of Heath Springs, SC, sons Dustin (Tauni) Morris of North Platte and Corey (Skylar) Morris of Broken Bow, eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and two sisters Bev (Herman) Kyrklund of Big Springs and Carol Morris of Kearney, as well as several other extended family members.

Louis was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Doriene, and a brother, Larry.
