Lois Derman

Lois Rae Derman age 89 of Axtell, NE, formerly of the Sargent area passed away Saturday, March 6, 2021 at the Mount Carmel Home in Kearney, NE.

Lois was born November 3, 1931 in Omaha, NE to Oscar and Beatrice Van Ostrand. In 1966 Lois married Marlyn Lee Derman.  The couple made their home near Sargent. Lois enjoyed helping her husband work the sheep on their farm and watching TV the Waltons and a good Western. Lois and Marlyn lived on the farm until moving to Axtell in the fall of 2015. Some of Lois greatest pleasures were gardening and cooking for her family.

Lois is survived by sons Bill (Marianna) Derman of Axtell, Mark Derman of Martell, Jerry Derman of Fargo, ND, and a sister Bernice Derman of Fort Collins, CO.

Lois is preceded in death by her husband Marlyn, parents Oscar and Beatrice Van Ostrand, sister Iris, a half-sister, a half-brother, and a nephew Richard.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, March 12, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Mt. Hope Cemetery at Sargent, NE with Don Schauda officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 11^th from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow, NE. Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
