Linda Baxter age 77 of Broken Bow, NE, passed away April 22, 2025, at the Callaway District Hospital in Callaway.
A visitation and time to greet the family will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025, from 3:30 to 5:30 PM at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow. A private graveside service will be held on Monday, April 28th. Memorials are suggested to the family. Govier Brothers Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Linda Dee Baxter was born on January 16, 1948, in Broken Bow, NE, to Adrian D “Bud” and Louanna Belle (Thompson) Meston. Linda grew up in the Broken Bow area and attended Broken Bow Schools. Linda was Baptized on April 3, 1977, at the Assembly of God Church.
On June 30, 1963, Linda married Raymond “Shorty” Baxter in Loup City, NE. The couple lived in Broken Bow and Ansley their whole lives. Linda was employed for 36 years at the Becton Dickinson plant.
Linda was a very caring person. She enjoyed going for car rides, watching the traffic with her husband, and trips to Colorado. Linda collected Boyd’s Bears, loved ice cream, her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Linda is survived by her husband Raymond “Shorty” Baxter of Broken Bow, son Bobby Baxter of Broken Bow, grandchildren Tina Baxter of Callaway, Jaxon Baxter of Broken Bow, Allison Baxter of Broken Bow, Kadan Baxter, and great-grandchildren Rowan McNees, Millie Robertson, and Baby Boy on the way, and a brother Jerry Meston of Colorado.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, many siblings, and many beloved family pets.
