LeRoy Struempler

LeRoy Verne Struempler, 75, passed away on Friday June 15, 2018 at his home near Oconto, Nebraska. LeRoy was born on June 7, 1943, to Martin and Dorothy (McCaslin) Struempler. He was the youngest of three children.  His parents and his siblings, Joan Birnie and Stanley Struempler, preceded him in death. He grew up on the homestead and graduated from Oconto High School. He attended Kearney State College after graduation. He worked throughout his life at several packing houses and was employed at the Oconto Feed Company before retiring.   LeRoy is survived by his daughter Karen (Cory) Schlesinger of Michigan; granddaughters Natalie and Leah Schlesinger and several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and special friends.  He took pleasure in working hard. He enjoyed playing and watching football and welcomed a good card game. Other favorite pastimes were putting together puzzles and spending time with his grandchildren.  All are welcome to a celebration of his life that will be held at the Oconto Community Center on Sunday, July 22, 2018 at 2:00 pm.  A private burial will take place in the morning at Christ Lutheran Cemetery.  If you would like to honor LeRoy’s memory, the family requests any donations be given to the Oconto Community Center in his name.
