(Anna) Lenore Bristol of Kearney was born August 25, 1935, in Westerville, Nebraska to Kenneth and Maxine Slingsby. She grew up on the family farm with her 7 younger siblings. After graduating from Westerville school Lenore attended Nebraska State Teachers College.

On June 19, 1955, Lenore was united in marriage to Max C. Bristol and to this union 5 children were born. They spent their early years of marriage farming and later moved to Broken Bow.  In 1975 Lenore went to work at the McDonald’s Department Store in Broken Bow and then worked at Doty’s Department Store until they moved to Laramie, Wyoming in 1994.  In Laramie Lenore worked alongside Max at the Albany County Weed and Pest as the office manager.  In 2003 they retired and moved to Kearney to be near their family.  Lenore and Max were married for sixty-two years when Max passed away on December 13th, 2017.

Lenore was known for her love of family, she enjoyed any time she got to spend with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren as well as her parents, siblings, and nieces and nephews.  She loved Holidays and spent lots of time decorating for them, but Christmas was her favorite! Lenore loved giving gifts and made sure there was a gift for everyone (even an unexpected guest).  Holidays of course also meant Lenore would be making cinnamon rolls and her homemade caramel (a family favorite).  Lenore was one of the biggest Husker fans you could meet.  Lenore and Max enjoyed watching all Husker sports, but Volleyball and Football were their favorite.  They spent many Saturdays using their season football tickets cheering on the Huskers (win or lose).  When Lenore wasn’t watching sports, she was spending time tending to her flowers or garden.  She had quite the green thumb and was very proud of the flower beds she planted and cared for at Kinship Pointe.

Survivors include her sons; Mike (Lisa) Bristol of Kearney, Russ (Lisa) Bristol of Broken Bow, daughters; Cindy Gilmore of Omaha, Linda (Wayne) Lienemann of Minden, siblings; Larry (Karen) Slingsby of Ansley, Ellen Smith of Kearney, Don (Connie) Slingsby of Broken Bow and Barb Guy of Kearney, 13 grandchildren; Derek (Jen), Craig (Danielle), Brittney, Zach (Michaela), Abby (Franklin), Ryan, Mackenzie, Drake, Hannah, Corey (Taryn), Erik, Kevin, and Mary as well as 11 great grandchildren.

Lenore was preceded in death by her parents Kenneth & Maxine, husband Max, son Scott, siblings, Louise, Richard and Ron, son-in-law Joel, and grandchildren Austin and Sydney.
