Kleo Dredla, a beloved and dedicated music educator, passed away on January 29, 2026, at the age of 88, leaving behind a legacy of harmony and passion. Over many years she inspired countless students bringing music to life as a teacher and private piano instructor in Hyannis, Ne.

Kleo was born November 22, 1937, in Hyannis, Nebraska, to Paul and Bea (Frye) Evert, grew up in Hyannis and graduated from Hyannis High School in1955. She went on to college attending Colorado A&M (now Colorado State University) in Fort Collins, majoring in music education.

In 1959 she married the love of her life, Tom Dredla. After graduating college, she taught for 1 year in Alliance and then they moved to Hyannis and she continued teaching music at the elementary school. She also served as head teacher of Hyannis Elementary School and Grant County Superintendent of Schools. She served as bookkeeper at Dredla's Grocery, retiring from teaching in 1986 to work full-time at the grocery store. After retiring from the grocery store in 1998, she continued to give private piano lessons.

Kleo dedicated much of her free time serving on a variety of boards. She served as church organist at Calvary Episcopal Church for over 25 years, as well as serving on the vestry and St. Margaret's altar guild. She belonged to the Order of the Eastern Star, serving as grand organist for a year. She was recognized as 2021 NLA (Nebraska Library Association) Outstanding Volunteer for her 30+ years serving on the Grant County Library Board, Aeola H. Brennemann Foundation Board, Western Library System and baking so many cookies and goodies for the annual bake sale. She served as the Pelican Beach Golf Club treasurer for many years and enjoyed golfing to the end. She was very involved with the Hyannis Alumni Association for many years.

Kleo enjoyed many activities including gardening, crocheting, fishing, playing bridge, book club and golfing. She loved cooking for her family!

Family members who were blessed to share her life include, son Jack (Linda) of Hobe Sound, FL; daughter Jill (Tim Lenz) of Hyannis NE, Debbie (Steve) Clarke of Hyannis NE and Anne (Ryan) Montanez of Highlands Ranch CO; 11 grandchildren Dezare (Brice) Lovell of Waverly, NE, Tia (Jeremy) Hauser of Davenport, FL, Trevor (Kacie) Dredla of Battle Creek, NE, Jordan (Chris) Farringer of Waverly, NE, Kylee Dredla and Joe Rhoden of North Platte, NE, Amanda (Brian) Tedesco of New Orleans, LA, Kristin (Derek) Bilyeu of Springfield, MО, Courtney (Jeff) Knox of Bassett, NE, Cody Clarke of North Platte, NE, Colin Montanez of Fort Collins, CO, Carson Montanez of Highlands Ranch, CO; 19 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren.

Family members who are there to welcome her home include her husband Tom Dredla, parents Bea and Paul Evert, Tom's parents Lambert and Dorothy Dredla, sisters Barb Evert and Judy Looney, brother Richard Evert, and grandson Matt Lenz.

To honor Kleo, memorials are suggested to Grant County Rescue, Aeola H Brenneman Foundation, and Calvary Episcopal Church.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 10:00 AM MST at the Calvary Episcopal Church in Hyannis, NE. Inurnment will follow in the Hyannis Cemetery. Online words of remembrance or condolences may be left at www.govierbrothers.com
