Joyce Ann Haumont, 75, of Anselmo, passed away Friday, October 31, 2025, at the Callaway Good Life Center.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday November 6, 2025, at Govier Brothers Chapel in Broken Bow with Pastor Bob Klooz and Don Schauda officiating. Interment will follow in the Broken Bow Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. with family greeting friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Joyce was born on May 15, 1950, in Anselmo, Nebraska, the oldest daughter, to Owen and Lois (Williams) Dainton. She attended Hoosier Valley School, then coming to town to attend school in Anselmo. Joyce graduated from the new high school as part of the Class of 1968.
She loved being on the farm, taking care of animals and working outside. She worked many jobs including Sargent Sale Barn, Halsey Forest, and the Broken Bow Hospital. In the 1980’s, Joyce met Phil and for 40 plus years, she put up with him. In her later years, you could see her walking down to the post office, followed by two dogs and a bunch of cats. She always loved Anselmo and the quiet life there.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Jeannie Sierks; grandpa, Roy Dainton, who she thought a lot of.
Joyce is survived by her husband, Phil Haumont; one son, Theodore and Joanna Haumont along with their children, Sarah, Lillian, Charlotte, Paisley and Henry; one daughter, Barbie and Kevin Weaver and their children, Sophia and Alek; one sister, Judy McCaslin; two brothers, Richard and Robert Dainton; an adopted son, Nick Dover; one very special sister-in-law, Frances Kay Dainton; along with many nieces and nephews.
