Broken Bow, NE – Jeffery Lee Schlund age 66 of Broken Bow, NE passed away peacefully on May 25, 2025, at Kearney Regional Medical Center.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, June 6, 2025 from 4-6PM at Govier Brothers Mortuary & Crematory in Broken Bow, NE. A private family burial will be held at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Cairo, NE at a later date. Online condolences may be left at www.govierbrothers.com

Jeffery Lee Schlund was born in Grand Island, NE, on June 27, 1958, to Edmund Harold and Jacqueline Lee (Arp) Schlund. He attended Dodge Elementary School in Grand Island, NE, until the family moved to Cairo, NE in 1968 where Jeffery attended elementary school in Boelus, NE and Centura Jr-Sr. High School, in Cairo, NE. Jeffery married Anne Knox of Grand Island, NE on April 27, 1979. Together they had two children: Gretchen Lee, and Zachariah Jeffery. The couple later divorced.

Jeffery was employed in a wide range of positions in his lifetime. He also loved the outdoors, but his true passion was farming. He was so grateful, proud, and honored to be employed by Christensen Farms in Broken Bow, NE for the last several years of his life. His other love was his two grandchildren, Brianne Renee and Emmett Jay.

Jeffery is survived by his sister Julie Marie (Schlund) Boyce, of Horseshoe Bay, TX, his two children Gretchen Lee (Schlund) Gilmore of Caledonia, IL, Zachariah Jeffery Schlund of Rockford, IL, his two grandchildren Brianne Renee Gilmore, Emmett Jay Schlund and his niece Jennifer Leigh Boyce of Traverse City, MI.

Jeffery is preceded in death by his parents, Edmund Harold Schlund and Jacqueline Lee (Arp) Schlund.
