Jaci Peterson age 63 of Weissert, NE passed away March 24, 2022, at the Jennie M Melham Memorial Medical Center in Broken Bow, NE.

Jacalyn “Jaci” Florabel Peterson was born November 9, 1958, in Broken Bow, NE to Ted and Alberta (Fellows) Jensen. Jaci attended grade school in Halsey, then went onto and graduated from Sandhills High School in 1977. After high school Jaci started at Custer Federal, then to Farm Credit Services where she worked for over 40 years.

Jaci was united in marriage to Mike Peterson May 7, 1983, at the Baptist Church in Broken Bow. The couple lived in Broken Bow for nine years, then moving to Weissert in 1991. Jaci enjoyed gardening, working in her yard, and reading books. Her “Perfect vacation was 2 weeks’ vacation working at home in her garden.” Jaci was a person that was always behind the scenes in the kitchen doing dishes and cleaning up. Jaci was never “the life of the party but loved being there.”

Jaci is survived by her husband Mike of Weissert, son Zac Peterson (Corey Petersen) of Weissert, siblings: Lucille Beck of Des Moines, IA, Coleen Murphy of McCook, Ron Jensen of Chadron, Deb Carfield of Oberlin, KS, and Diane Licklider of Alliance.

Jaci was preceded in death by her parents Ted and Alberta, two sisters Betty Day and Helen Podraza, and a brother Rollie Jensen.

Memorial service will be Thursday, March 31, 2022, at 11:00 am at Govier Brothers Chapel in Broken Bow with Pastor Lana Day officiating. Memorials are suggested to JMMMMC Hospital Auxiliary. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm, with family greeting 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow. Govier Brothers Mortuary are in charge of arrangements. An online guest book may be signed at www.govierbrothers.com.
