Gwen Catterson

Gwendolyn Ruth Catterson, 86, of Arnold, passed away Sunday, October 11, 2026, at Hilltop Estates in Gothenburg.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 19, 2026, at the Arnold United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at the Arnold Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday, October 18, 2026, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the church. Memorials may be made to the church in Gwen’s name. Gwen was born August 16, 1940, in Arnold to Arthur and Ruth Neola (Halouska) Catterson. She grew up in Arnold before moving to Washington State during WWII with her family. In 1953, the family returned to North Platte and then Arnold. She graduated from Arnold High School in 1959.

Following high school, Gwen worked for BD for many years. She retired in 1986 due to severe health complications. She resided with her parents where she helped care for them and the home.

Gwen was very active with the United Methodist Church in Arnold and United Methodist Women and helped take care of many details around the church throughout the years.

She was an avid game show viewer, loved to crochet, especially afghan blankets, playing Boggle and Bingo and enjoyed gambling when she was able.

Gwen is survived by her brother, James Catterson of North Platte; niece and nephews, Darin Catterson of Bellevue, Kimberly Angel of Lochbuie, CO, Gregg Catterson of Cover, South Carolina; great-nieces and nephews, Gabriel “Gabby”, Regan, Chauntel, Tiffany, Katelyn and Nick. She was also survived by numerous great-great nieces and nephews, extended family and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; infant brother, Ronnie G. Catterson; sister-in-law, Nellie Anne Catterson; and great-nephew, Daniel Catterson.
