Gerald Dean Coday

Gerald D. Coday, age 82 of Broken Bow, Nebraska, died Saturday, May 5, 2018, at the Jennie M Melham Medical Center in Broken Bow, NE. Gerald Dean Coday was born April 28, 1936, to Charley and Bertha (McCallum) Coday, north of Milburn, NE. In 1944 they moved to Merna, NE, Gerald attended school in Merna, NE. He worked for local farmers and helped his father work around the farm. He moved to the sandhills and worked for ranchers there. While there he married Elna Allison. She died in 1969. Later Gerald moved to Merna, NE and worked for the Custer County Road Department until he retired. In 1973, he married Betty (Sittler), she died in 1998. Gerald Coday is survived by his sister Mary Kauk of Broken Bow, NE   Two stepdaughter Sandy Schall of Broken Bow, NE and Linda Gaffney of Anselmo, NE, several nieces, and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife’s Elna and Betty, 2 brothers Thomas and Melvin, and a stepson Mike Sittler. Mr. Coday was cremated, and inurnment will occur at a later date in the Moulton Cemetery northwest of Taylor, NE.
