Grand Island, NE- Gay Lynn McGee age 72 of Ravenna passed away on July 8, 2026, at the St. Francis Medical Center after a brief illness.

Private family service will be held in the Wood River Mennonite Church Cemetery.

Gay Lynn was born on March 21, 1954, at Grand Island, NE to Gayle and Mary (Hochstetler) Asher. Gay grew up in Lincoln, Nebraskalchadasher@gmail.com and Doniphan, Missouri. She later returned to Hall County area. She worked at several places through the years. In 2024 she moved to Broken Bow to the Off-Broadway Apartments and most recently was living at the Seneca Sunrise in Ravenna.

Gay enjoyed sewing.

Survivors include her daughter, Jodi (Robert) Dethlefs of Ansley, NE, her son Chad (LeAnne) Asher of Sterlington, Louisianna, six grandchildren, numerous great and great great grandchildren, and two sisters, Sheila (Richard) Daniels of Cario, and Kathy Asher of Bull Shols, Arkansas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister Sherre Ward.
