Edward Warta age 92 of Loup City, NE formerly of Miller, NE passed away February 16, 2022, at the Rose Lane home in Loup City, NE.

Funeral Service will be Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at 10:30 am at the United Church of Sumner East Campus in Sumner, NE with Pastor Ken Hutson officiating. Burial will be in the Sumner Cemetery at Sumner, NE. Memorials are suggested to the Family for later designation. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm with family greeting 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow. Govier Brothers Mortuary are in charge of arrangements. An online guest book may be signed at www.govierbrothers.coms.

Edward Anton Warta was born May 26, 1929, on a farm about three miles North of Sumner, NE to Ben and Emma Warta. Being the youngest of ten children. Most of his schooling was in a small one room schoolhouse about three miles West of the farm, District 36 Lower Park Valley. In his early years Edward farmed and worked for his neighbors, later he went to work in the hay mills, and when they closed down, he went to work for Paulson Construction of Cozad, NE.

Edward was the past chairman of the Heart and Cancer Fund drives, a former Boy Scout Leader, and was a member of the Baptist Church since 1949. It is now the United Church of Sumner. He attended a large area of auctions, given a permanent number to bid with. His most common number was #6 or #36. On October 9, 1950, he joined the National Guard Company B-195 Tank Battalion and was discharged January 25, 1954. When he left the farm he moved to Miller, NE.

Edward is survived by his children: David Warta of Elkhorn, Eddie Warta, Jr. of Oconto, Danny (Susan) Warta of Colorado Springs, CO, Carol Warta of Kearney, and James (Lora) Warta of Bertrand, 13 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren.

Edward was preceded in death by his parents Ben and Emma, a son William, a grandchild, and his nine brothers and sisters.
