Duane Beck

Duane W. Beck age 93, of Oconto NE, passed away at home on November 10, 2025.

A Memorial Service will be held on November 17, 2025, at 10:30 AM at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow with burial following at the Broken Bow Cemetery with Military Honors. Memorials are planned to the Central Plains Home Health & Hospice of Cozad, NE; Oconto Rescue Unit or to the family to be designated later. A visitation will be held on Sunday, November 16th from 1:00 to 6:30 PM, with the family greeting 5:00 to 6:30 PM at Govier Brothers Mortuary. Govier Brothers Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Duane was born October 26, 1932, on the Stuckey Ranch near Oconto, NE to Donald and Mary Loretta (Bolliger) Beck. On March 17, 1951, Duane was united in marriage to Donna Jean Hill. To this union were born 3 children- Gerald, Patricia, and Cody. Duane spent several years working on cattle ranches and breaking horses. In 1965, Duane and Donna purchased their own farm where they raised cattle. But his real love was riding horses, until his health no longer allowed it.

Duane is survived by son Cody Beck of Oconto, daughter Patricia Pennington of Blue Springs, MO, daughter in law - Cheryn Beck of Pauls Valley, OK; 4 grandchildren - Pam (Chris) of MO, Travis (Jessica) of OK, Christie (Chris) of CO, Chaunci (Erika) of LA; 7 great grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild, and 1 brother Jim (Roberta) Beck of NE; several nieces, nephews and numerous longtime friends who were thought of as family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna; son, Gerald; his parents, Don and Loretta; 3 sisters, (Elaine, Kay, and Gay): and son-in-law Dean.

Memorials are planned to the Central Plains Home Health & Hospice of Cozad, NE;
