Donaldeen Mary Connealy died at age 90 on March 18, 2026, in Omaha, Nebraska.
Born August 5, 1935, in Gordon, Nebraska as the youngest daughter of Hop and Helen Vinton, Donnie was raised on their ranch in Cherry County. After attending middle school at St. Agnes Academy in Alliance, and high school at St. Mary’s Academy in O’Neill, Donnie then took undergraduate studies at St. Mary of the Woods in Terre Haute, Indiana, before marrying Marty Connealy on July 6, 1955, at St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Gordon, Nebraska. In the spring of 1962, Donnie and Marty moved to the ranch a few miles south of Whitman, Nebraska where they raised their seven children. Later in life, the couple spent portions of their time in Lincoln, Nebraska where they had a second home and many friends. After Marty’s death in 2011, Donnie spent an increasing amount of time in Lincoln, and later at Elk Ridge Village, a senior living community in Elkhorn.
Donnie is survived by sons Bill (Renee) of Phoenix, Jerry (Sharon) of Whitman, Jack (Jane) of Lincoln, Mick (Kathy) and Terry (Lisa) both of Omaha; daughters Susan (Bob) Huffman of Bassett, and Kathy (Steve) Cleveland of Chadron. She is also survived by 25 grandchildren and 46 great-grandchildren.
A Holy Rosary will be prayed for Donnie on the evening of Sunday, March 29, 2026, in Mullen at 6 p.m. (MST) at St. Mary's Catholic Church with visitation prior from 5 – 6 p.m. (MST). The Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Donnie at St. Mary's Catholic Church on Monday, March 30, 2026, at 10 a.m. with burial immediately following in Cedarview Cemetery. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be offered to All Saints Altar Society in Hyannis Nebraska. Arrangements are being handled by Govier Brothers Mortuary/Mullen Funeral Home, 205 North Lincoln Avenue, Mullen, NE 69152. (308) 872-2424.
