Brewster, NE – Donald N. Baker, Sr age 90 of Brewster, NE passed away July 5, 2024, at CHI Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, NE

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at 10:30 AM at the Brewster Community Center in Brewster, NE. Burial will follow in the Brewster Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the local Brewster Organization of your choice. A visitation will be held on Monday, July 8th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow. Donald Newell Baker, Sr was born December 19, 1933, in Purdum, NE to Doran and Blanche (White) Baker. Don worked and managed different ranches. Don eventually bought and drove the truck up until he retired at age 78.

On February 24, 1978, he married Donna Hite in Aurora, NE. The couple lived in Brewster for over 20 years. Don enjoyed gardening, fixing things, and always trying to make things better.

Don is survived by his wife Donna of Brewster, children Christine Sittler (Marty Riddle) of Mullen, Donald (Jeanine) Baker, Jr of Brewster, Pamela (Cecil) Coons of Mullen, and Samuel (Sherri) of North Platte, stepchildren William (Tonya) Spiegel of Council Bluffs, IA and Clinton Spiegel of Omaha, eleven grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren.

Don was preceded in death by his parents Doran and Blanche, two sisters Alma and Beverly, and brother Ted.
