Deborah Bodjanac age 59, of Broken Bow, NE passed away on July 29, 2026.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 15th at 11:00 AM at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Broken Bow. The service will be livestreamed at www.govierbrothers.com.  Bural will be at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Deborah Joanne Bodjanac, nee Wosje was born on November 5, 1966, in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Carl Rudolph Wosje and his wife Carolyn Kay Wosje, nee Berg. “Debbie” and her family traversed the United States throughout her growing-up years, as her father Carl, a Lutheran pastor, accepted calls to strengthen or start congregations, first in Minneapolis, Minnesota, then on to Rochester, New York; then to churches in Oaklee and Thief River Falls, Minnesota; then on to Scarville, Iowa, and finally to Port Orchard, Washington. Debbie was largely home schooled by her mother, Carolyn, until the family moved to Scarville, Iowa, where Debbie attended the parochial school housed in that church’s basement. While growing up, Debbie took piano lessons from her mother. Debbie loved to sew and create, and made clothes for herself growing up. When Debbie was in 9th grade the family moved to Port Orchard, Washington; and once there, she attended and graduated from Evergreen Lutheran High School in Tacoma, Washington in 1985. While attending school she participated in choir, volleyball, basketball and track. Debbie went on to attend Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato, Minesota for two years. Then Debbie attended college at Concordia Lutheran College in Mequon, Wisconsin. There she graduated in 1989 with a degree in Business with a Minor in accounting.

During her senior year in college, Debbie met Theodore Bodjanac, a Wisconsin Synod Lutheran seminary student, in 1988; and they were married on August 12, 1989. Debbie served as a dutiful and faithful pastor’s wife, and was also was called upon to play the organ for church services throughout Theodore’s calls to ministry. Together they served churches in Arizona. After Theodore graduated the Seminary in 1991 they moved from Wisconsin to Cibecue, Arizona on the Fort Apache Indian Reservation. They lived there seven years. Then to Phoenix, Arizona; for twenty years, then on to Fredericksburg, Texas for 5 and a half years. Then finally to Broken Bow, Nebraska beginning in 2024 until her death in 2026.

Debbie raised their family of six children with stability and grace through all their moves, and she always kept their home running smoothly. When their children were all attending school, she also worked at an Amazon fulfillment center in Phoenix, providing support for their growing family. Once all their children had graduated, Debbie returned to her love of sewing, was part of a quilting and craft time with ladies at the church in Broken Bow, and was engaged in making scrap books chronicling the lives of their children until her death.

Debbie received a cancer diagnosis in 2024; and following her courageous battle with that disease, Debbie was received into God’s eternal love and care in Heaven on July 29th, 2026. She was preceded in death by her Mother Carolyn Kay Wosje nee Berg, her Father Reverend Carl Rudolph Wosje, and her mother-in-law Collette Bodjanac.

Debbie is survived by her husband Reverend Theodore Bodjanac, their children Isaac (and Beth ) Bodjanac, Elisa (and Kevin) Huynh, Mary (and Clinton) Baker, Peter Bodjanac, Matthew Theodore Bodjanac, and Anna Bodjanac; by her sister by her sister Elisabeth (and Roy) Stiff and their sons Alexander (and Bergen) Khalil and their son Lando, and Blake Khalil; her twin brother David (and Jodi) Wosje; her father in law Theodore Bodjanac, Sr., Debbie’s brother in law Paul (and Diane) Bodjanac and their son Joshua; by her grandchildren Liam and Sophia Bodjanac; and by several aunts, uncles, and cousins, along with their families.
