StreamBroken Bow, NE David A. Peterson age 45 of Broken Bow passed away on November  8, 2025, from injuries in an automobile accident.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Broken Bow with Father Joseph Hannappel officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date. A visitation and time to greet the family will be held on Wednesday evening 5:30-7:00 PM at Govier Brothers Mortuary with a rosary service to follow at 7:00 PM at Govier Brothers Mortuary. Memorials are suggested to the family.

David was born on August 6, 1980, in Kearney, NE to Richard and Frances (Holeman) Peterson. He attended elementary school in Westerville, NE, middle school in Arcadia, NE and high school in Broken Bow, NE. David loved 4-H, especially his cattle projects. His first job was helping on his grandpa’s farm that grew into working for his uncles on their farms. When David turned 21, he got his CDL and went onto being a truck driver. His passion when he got to come home was spending time with his family and working on the truck he was driving and making sure it was clean.

David married the love of his life Jessica (Applegarth) Peterson on March 29, 2007, and to this union three children were born. Daughters Shawny Peterson and Kelsey Peterson, son Riley Peterson. David loved being a grandpa to his four grandchildren and cherished every moment with them.

David is survived by his wife Jessica of Broken Bow, children Shawny Peterson of Kearney. Kelsey Peterson of Lincoln, and Riley Peterson of Broken Bow, mom Frances Peterson of Lexington, dad Richard Allen Peterson of Broken Bow, Grandma Louise Holeman of Broken Bow, four grandchildren Dorian Bobo, Lucian Bobo and Hadrian Bobo of Kearney, and Cardier Cage of Lincoln, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

David was preceded in death by grandpa Eugene Holeman, grandparents Richard “Dick” and Agnes Peterson, Uncle Jeff Moody, and half-sister Kathleen “Katie Bears” Peterson.
