David Duryea, age 39 of Broken Bow, NE, passed away on August 4, 2025, at his residence in Broken Bow.

A time to greet the family will be held on Sunday, August 10, 2025, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow.

David was a complex soul—fiercely loyal, deeply protective, and often misunderstood by the world around him. Those who truly knew him recognized the depth of his heart and the strength of his convictions. He loved his family in his own powerful way and stood as a steadfast defender of those he cared for and anyone he thought needed protecting. He had a passion for firearms, not only as tools but as symbols of protection and freedom.

David is survived by his three beloved children—Pandora, Joseph, and Aethea—whom he loved beyond comprehension. He also leaves behind his siblings, Katie, Nikia, and TJ, and his parents, George and Angie, who will forever hold him in their hearts.

His death came too soon, and his absence leaves a heavy silence. But amid the sorrow, those who loved him hold tightly to the memory of the man behind the walls: the brother who never wavered in his love, the son who bore burdens silently, and the father who will never be forgotten.

Please continue to honor David by protecting the ones you love and remembering that not all stories are meant to be understood by everyone—some are written only for the hearts that carry them and those who truly knew them.
