Dale Eugene Grint was born July 1, 1935, to Sydney and Josephine Grint in Sargent, Ne. He died on November 26, 2022, at the age of 87. He was the 5th of 6 boys.

He spent his childhood in Sargent. He graduated high school in 1953. He married his wife of 67 years February 19, 1955. To this union two children were born. A son Jerry and a daughter Debra. He spent a time working in Grand Island with his brother Donald at a service station. He then moved to Lincoln, NE. where it was working in the oil and fuel business.

When he had enough of the city life, he packed up the family and moved back to Sargent and purchased the homestead where he grew up. He was an ambitious Go Getter and started a tank wagon business delivering fuel to area farmers. In 1967 he started Grint Farm Supply at his home. He constructed a large sign that stood by the road that proudly displayed his business vision. He bought salvage tractors and dismantled them for parts. He also farmed the ground; He did disc rolling and brand inspection. In 1975 he purchased the IH dealer and moved the business to town. He wasn’t allowed to keep the IH line, so he became a Massey Ferguson dealer. Then in 1979 he built the new store along the highway that is still Grint Farm Supply today.

He also enjoyed being involved in Key Amusement Raceway Stock Car races and preparing the track and getting everything set up for race day.

He probably holds the record for attending the most farm and machinery auctions of anyone. He used his permanent buyer #22 to bid on many bargains and treasures over many years. No matter what town in Nebraska he attended auctions there was always people that knew him.

He was a visionary with tons of ambition and determination to succeed no matter what the sacrifice. His sharp wit was spot on and was always ready with a joke or a prank to keep you on your toes!

Dale is survived by his wife of 67 years, Helen Gaylene Grint, his two children Jerry Grint and Debra (Luis) Chanady both of Sargent, NE, grandchildren Louis Chanady IV of Sargent, Tracie Chanady of Sycamore, IL, Nicole Wetgen, Kayla Gehring, three great grandchildren, Trevor, Brooke, and Colton Wetgen., one brother Dean (Judy) Grint of Murray, Utah.

He is preceded in death by his parent Sydney and Josephine, brothers Kenneth, Donald, Garold, and Leland.

He will be greatly missed by Family Members, Friends, Colleagues, and Customers!
