Crystal Johnson

    Crystal Mae Johnson, age 97, of Broken Bow, Nebraska died Sunday, October 28, 2018, at Brookestone View Nursing Home in Broken Bow.

    Crystal Fenner Johnson was born March 29, 1921, on a farm near Sumner, Nebraska to Dale and Goldie Fenner.

     Crystal graduated from Eddyville High School in 1939. In 1941, the family moved north of Gothenburg, Nebraska. Crystal worked for several years in Gothenburg, and then on November 4, 1948, she married Glendon Johnson, a native of Gothenburg who farmed north of town.

     One son, Danny, was born October 9, 1952.

     Glendon and Crystal farmed in the Rock Island Table Community until November 1983, when they retired and moved to Broken Bow.

     Glendon, Crystal, and Danny were faithful in attending church at the First Baptist Church in Gothenburg and then the Berean Bible Church in Broken Bow.

     Crystal took wonderful care of her husband and son. She was a great homemaker. She enjoyed cooking and had lots of recipe books.

     Crystal is survived by a special cousin, Helen Jean Johnson, many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

     Crystal was preceded in death by her husband Glendon, son, Danny; her parents, Dale and Goldie Fenner; her brothers, Earl and Rex, and her sisters Mary and Ellen.

     Funeral Services will be Wednesday, October 31, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at the Berean Bible Church with Pastors Tyce Jensen and Larry DeMoss officiating. Memorials have been suggested to the Berean Bible Church. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 30, 2018, Noon to 8:00 PM at Govier Brothers Mortuary. Burial will be in the Broken Bow Township Cemetery with Govier Brothers Mortuary in charge of arrangements. Online condolences can be left at www.govierbrothers.com
