In Loving Memory of Cindy Jean Thomas

Cindy Thomas age 66 of Broken Bow, NE passed away December 5, 2023, at her home in Broken Bow, NE.

Memorial Services will be Saturday, December 16, 2023, at 10:00 am at Govier Brothers Chapel in Broken Bow, NE with Kathy Salts PMA officiating. Memorials are suggested to the Family. A register book may be signed at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow. Govier Brothers Mortuary are in charge of arrangements. Words of encouragement may be left at www.govierbrothers.com.

Cindy Jean Thomas was born on April 30, 1957, in Kearney, NE to Delores Thomas.  At the age of five, she was adopted by Delores’s brother LeRoy and Judy Thomas after the passing of her mother Delores.

She grew up in Kearney and attended school at Kearney High School.

In 1982 her first child Heather Thomas was born. In 1989 her second child Hannah (Thomas) Raker was born. Then they moved to Custer County and a few years later she met the love of her life Raymond Jensen “Tree”.

In 2004 her first grandchild was born (Tyler Thomas) at that time she knew she had to step up to be a mother figure cause her daughter had health issues. Cindy and Tyler had a very special bond throughout the years. Then in 2009, she got her adopted grandson Sawyer Bumgarner, and in her eyes, those two boys couldn’t do anything wrong. Still to this day, those boys were her everything.

Then in 2012, she got her mini-me, her granddaughter (Payton Raker). In the time they had together, they played lots of card games and colored a lot of pictures together. They argued cause Payton would leave her stuff lying around, but down deep she enjoyed it. Her grandkids and children were her everything. She loved them very much.

Cindy had many jobs throughout the years, but her favorite one was Casey’s where she spent 10 years and made lifelong friends.

Cindy is survived by her two daughters Heather Thomas (Clarence Keezer) of Broken Bow, and Hannah (Keith) Raker of Broken Bow, two grandkids Tyler Thomas and Payton Raker both of Broken Bow, a sister Robin Fry of Kearney, and an uncle, and aunt Lloyd & Anna Taverner of Kearney.

Cindy was preceded by parents Delores Thomas, and LeRoy & Judy Thomas, brothers Marty Thomas and Monty Hite, and a sister Deb Thomas.
