Carole Thomas

Carole Elaine Thomas passed away peacefully on October 15, 2025, in Broken Bow, Nebraska. She was born on November 23, 1946, to Roy Thomas and Eleanor (Carlson) Thomas and grew up on the family farm north of Laurel, Nebraska. Carole graduated from Laurel-Concord High School in 1965. She attended and graduated from Wayne State College and attended the University of Utah. Her career took her to many places within the United States, as well as, several international locations such as Sydney, Australia, Bern, Switzerland, and Reading, England. Carole returned to Laurel to live on the family farm. Carole loved to play cards, garden, and help at the Laurel Senior Center. Her kind heart and infectious laugh will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Carole was a member of the Jehovah Witness church.

Carole is survived by her sisters Margaret Newell and Jeanne (Bill) Stark; nieces Charlotte (Mark) Larsen, Heather (Ann Darin) Thomas, Courtney (Dale Hruby) Thomas; great-nieces Megan, Carly, Katie, and Sarah Larsen. She is preceded in death by her parents Roy and Eleanor Thomas, her brother Charles Thomas and brother-in-law Roger Newell.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
