Bonnie B Wilson

December 23, 1928 — December 4, 2018

Bonnie B Wilson, age 89, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 4, 2018, at Seneca Sunrise Assisted Living facility in Ravenna, Nebraska. She was born with her twin sister, Betty, on December 23, 1928, at home in Mason City, Nebraska to George and Cecil (Spencer) Munn as one of 11 children.

Bonnie played the piano and worked as a telephone operator in her youth. She attended school in southern Missouri, Broken Bow, Ansley, and graduated from Mason City High School in 1946.

Soon thereafter a young World War II veteran of the Army Air Corp, Neal Errol Wilson, swept Bonnie off her feet on the dance floor. Neal and Bonnie were wed on February 18, 1949, and together they had five children. Bonnie was a country-loving farm wife on the Wilson family farm for 60 years, spending her days caring for her family, serving the Mason City and Litchfield communities, and tending to cattle and fence lines. Bonnie served as the Assistant Post Master for the Mason City Post Office and was a member of the Mason City American Legion Auxiliary Post #142 for 62 years.

Bonnie will be remembered for her adoration of baking and sharing her cinnamon rolls, banana bread, pies, and brownies with the communities, churches, and people she treasured. She generously conveyed comfort for those in need and expressed affection towards those she loved through her cooking. Bonnie was a playful, spirited woman who was always up for a good laugh and some competitive card playing.

Those that will cherish her memory are her children Randy (Glenda) Wilson of Litchfield, Gale Wilson of Kearney, Brent Wilson of Litchfield, Melody (Jeff) Dull of Harper’s Fairy, Iowa, and Wendy Wilson (Tim Nitzel) of Evergreen, Colorado. She is survived by 7 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren with another great-grandbaby on the way; and many nieces and nephews.

Bonnie is preceded in death by her husband Neal, infant son, and great-grandson Chase; her parents George and Cecil; and her siblings Iola, Georgina, Naomi, Rowena, John, Gerald, Marvin, twin sister Betty, George, and Donna.
