After graduating from Broken Bow High School in 1992, Becky pursued her passion for beauty by attending Joseph's School of Beauty in Lincoln, Nebraska. This education laid the foundation for her career as a hairdresser, and she subsequently returned to Broken Bow to serve her community in this capacity. Her talent and creativity also extended to the culinary world, where she worked as a line cook and baker at Tumbleweed Cafe, delighting patrons with her delicious offerings.
Throughout her life, Becky maintained a deep love for cooking, often found poring over cookbooks or watching cooking channels for inspiration. She enjoyed sharing these culinary adventures with friends and family. In addition to her culinary talents, Becky liked to bowl and cherished moments spent socializing with her friends. Her loyal companion, a dog named Trooper, was a source of joy and comfort during her life.
Becky faced challenges in her health towards the end of her life, which led her to move to Omaha, where she spent the last eight years. Despite these difficulties, she remained dedicated to her interests.
Becky is preceded in death by her father, Leo Schmid, and her mother, Lois (Powers) Schmid. She leaves behind a circle of cousins, aunts, and uncle Dean (Carolyn) Schmid of Albion, who will continue to honor her memory and share stories of the love and light she brought into their lives.
