Ann Louise (Carries) Connell was born in Aurora, NE, on June 25th, 1941, to loving parents Elmo K. and Elinor E. (Gorham) Carnes. She passed away on April 9th, 2026. Ann grew up on the family farm at Chapman, NE, where she also attended school. She was active in 4-H, cheerleading, and band. She worked diligently at her studies and graduated valedictorian.

Ann was a woman of many great talents. As a lifelong lover of music, Ann was a master pianist and played faithfully for countless church services, recitals, weddings and funerals. If she wasn't at the piano, she could often be found at her sewing machine. She had amazing sewing skills and could make everything from recital and prom dresses to full three-piece suits. Plants and flower arranging always played a big part of Ann's life. She proudly earned a Master Gardener certification and was known for beautiful rose gardens and her ability to arrange florals.

Above all Ann was known for her joyful and caring spirit. She loved to have a good laugh. Family was the most important thing in her life. She was a wonderful Daughter, Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother. She selflessly cared for her aging parents and dedicated several years of her life to their care and the upkeep of the family home. Ann was quick with a word of wisdom or encouragement, sent often in the form of cards or letters lovingly filled with confetti sprinkles. She loved storytelling and quality time with her family. She embodied one of her dad's favorite sayings "There is nothing more fun than fun”.

Those who honor her legacy will fondly remember her love of family, roses, movies, reading, music, chocolate, games, and the color red. She was a fun-filled person, and her loss is felt deeply. Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Alternatively, we invite you to honor her by sharing a 'sprinkle of joy' with someone in need, just as she did with her letters and music. A private family ceremony will be held at a later date.
