Broken Bow, NE – Alberta Stauffer age 82 of Broken Bow, NE went to be with the Lord and her loved ones on January 4, 2024, at the Jennie M Melham Memorial Medical Center in Broken Bow.

A Celebration of Life will be on Thursday, January 11, 2024, at 2:00 pm at the United Methodist Church in Broken Bow with Pastor Phil Sloat officiating. Everyone is asked to wear Purple or Blue, that was Alberta’s favorite colors.  Memorials are suggested to the family. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 10, from 1:00 to 5:00 pm at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow. Govier Brothers Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Alberta Arlene Hering Stauffer was born April 25, 1941, in Broken Bow, NE to Lorna (Yeadon) and Albert Hering.

 

Alberta graduated from Broken Bow High School in 1959. She lived in Grand Island, Kearney, Axtell, and Alma NE before moving back to Broken Bow in 2008. Alberta was a kind and caring person who often worked in hospitals with the elderly and disabled.

 

Alberta was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Stauffer; her brother, Ronald Hering; and parents Lorna and Albert Hering.

 

Alberta is survived by her niece, Lori Stauffer of Broken Bow, her children, and grandchildren; cousin, Cathron Cole O’Connor of Lincoln, NE, her children and grandchildren, and cousin; Carla Cole of Lincoln, and many friends made over the years.
